I just realized that putting in backgrounds is the same thing as putting in custom graphics, you just take the image, paste it into paint (if it isn't bigger than the background itself, and if it is smaller, make it cover the entire background. Using graphics with 1x1 pixels in them is often frowned upon because the style of these images does not fit well with the graphics SMBX usually uses It would be a good idea to download some graphics packs, such as the Community GFX Pack (it's stickied in the Graphics forum), to make sure you don't have images with 1x1 pixels in them.
